Recognized in the industry as a woman who has kept true to her goal of promoting and creating inspiring and thought-provoking music, Eve isn't about to let up anytime soon. After relocating to Vancouver from her hometown of Atlanta, she has continued to make waves on-air with the globally syndicated radio show, Art of Beatz, produce events (Richard Devine, Pieter K, Kode 9, Reverse Crew), and spin at an ever-expanding array of shows across the continent.

From classical beginnings as an oboist, Eve discovered a new outlet in 1989 through the dance scene in Atlanta. After years of enjoying music on the dance floor, she moved to the radio DJ booth while working with the legendary Housefaerie on WRAS Atlanta (100,000 watt student run voice of Georgia State University). In 1995, she was handed the torch to continue serving Atlanta with premium, mind-opening, underground electronic music, with Planet 8. "The show allowed me to give back to the scene through music, education, and promotion, allowing me to make a difference in the way people listen to electronic music as a whole."

"I've seen the future," says Annie Sloan of URB Magazine, about the musical journeys of Eve. From one genre to the next, the DJing skills that Eve blends create a texture that fits any mood. Her influences span the spectrum, from The Orb, Ninja Tune, Black Dog/Plaid, to the Phunkateck crew, Ohm Resistance, and T Power. "I love music that touches the soul and engages the mind." Eve plays with the opposite ends of the musical spectrum creating a chill out vibe at lounges and ambient spaces, and sonic mayhem with darker drum and bass, minimal techno, and electro. Moving into the studio, she produces as Abunaii with DJ Kuma, performs with her oboe alongside Vancouver's Gunshae, Lee Hutzulak, and produces solo compositions.

As far as press goes she's been on it from the beginning with, two reviews in URB Magazine, Pitchfork, nwdnb.bc.ca, lunarmagazine.com, jivemagazine.com, and been featured on CBC Radio 1's "GO" discussing electronic music bridging with classical music. Eve produced a radio show for CBC Radio 3 (which rebroadcast on their Best of 2004 show), "Electric Concerto", which further linked classical music with electronic music, featuring Bjork, Tomito, Akiyama, Reich, Glass, Stockhausen. She has also been featured on CBC Radio 1's 'On the Coast' discussing the merits of local Vancouver artists, and encouraging more youth to delve into the digital world of electronic music.

In the grand scheme of things, Eve just wants to progress the medium. Her mentoring can be seen through Vancouver's Rhythm Institute, where she teaches students of all ages about the music industry and how to mix music via turntables and laptop. Eve is also very active with community outreach, working with youth at the Musqueam First Nations Centre, and Surrey's Digital REMIXX project. She is one of the founding members of Reverse, a network of like-minded multimedia artists in Vancouver who collaborate, inspire, and produce music and events with the aim to project something new and unique. In Atlanta, she managed the DJ based live ensemble, Safari Sound System, which fused live instrumentation, vocalists, and visuals, centered around the DJ.

Forward thinking in sound mind and vision, Eve is one of those individuals making the next level precisely what it is.

Eve has been affiliated with Space Kadets Collective since 1998.
